Needs Analysis, 2006-2009

In 2006, the Interpreting Department obtained a grant from the Geneva International Academic Network (GIAN, now SNIS) to assess the needs of ICRC interpreters in the field with a view to subsequently developing a tailor-made training course. The project was coordinated by the Interpreting Department and carried out in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Graduate Institute of Development Studies and led to the development of the first virtual training course for ICRC field interpreters.
